I’m very excited to announce another partnership that we’re rolling out as a service to Mokena! Bill Innes, from SCORE Chicago, and I have been working on this for the past couple months and were finally able to get some of the details in place. SCORE is a great non-profit with similar goals to our own: promote local small businesses, and help others through teaching. By partnering with SCORE, SpaceLab now has expanded services for its membership, as well as the rest of the Mokena community.
Here’s the press release below:
SCORE, a national small business support group, and SpaceLab1, a Mokena makerspace, have formed a partnership to assist in the growth and enhancement of the small business community of Mokena.
SCORE is a professional, non-profit, all volunteer small business mentoring and consulting organization with 13,000 nationwide and 130 Chicago chapter members. Additionally, SCORE is a resource partner of the Small Business Administration (SBA). SCORE’s services are cost free and can be found at www.scorechicago.org. Local efforts are led by William Innes, SCORE South Area Vice-Chairperson.
SpaceLab1 is an e-gym for geeks – a blend of technologists, e-artists, curious, tinkers, gamers and all who love to live in a world managed by computers and the internet. Jay Margalus, founder, is Chairperson of the Village of Mokena Technology Committee and directs a visionary path to encompass an arena of small businesses focused on economic vitality.
Jay and Bill will collaborate to place a SCORE mentor at the SpaceLab1 location to provide business development skills for clients. An announcement of details is to be forthcoming.
